WATER DIVINER’S SUCCESS
OLD MAIN LOCATED ON HUTT ROAD DEPTH OF PIPES FORETOLD. By Telegraph—Press Association. ■ Wellington, Last Night. The services of a water diviner were used to locate a water main on Hutt Road to-day. The Wellington City Council wanted to know the exact position of an old water main on the old part oi Hutt Road so that spoil would not be piled above the pipe. w Mr. J. T. Kibblewhite, Petone, who ir working for the Public Works Department is a diviner and undertook to locate the pipe. Using a. manuka wand that had been soaked in water, Mr. , Kibblewhite fixed the exact position of each side of the pipe over a considerable distance and told tile depth (7ft.) at which the pipe would be found. A hole was dug and the pipe uncovered in the position and at the depth which Mr. K.'Sglewhite indicated.
