£292,000 POST OFFICE
CONTRACT LET FOR DUNEDIN COMPLETION WITHIN THREE YEARS, PRICES APPROXIMATE ESTIMATE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. - The Minister of Public Works (the Hom J. Bitchener) announced to-day that the Fletcher Construction Company’s tender of £292,448 had been accepted for the erection of the Dunedin, post office. Tenders were received from several well-known firm in various parts of the Dominion, the Minister said, and th? prices quoted were all in the vicinity of the departmental estimate. - The new Building is to be of steel and concrete, specially strengthened against earthquakes, and faced with New Zealand stone, the lower part with granite and the upper with lighter-coloured stone. The period for completion of ths contract is three years.
