NEW ZEALAND LEGION

ACTIVITIES AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A meeting of the New Plymouth West Centre Committee of the New Zealand Legion was held on Thursday night. Dr. G. Home presided over a good attendance and briefly referred to the aims and objects of the legion. It was pointed out that the greatest need to-day was the mobilisation of public thought with the view of bringing it to bear on the problems confronting the Dominion, time being the essence of the necessity. It was decided to divide the centre into several sub-centres and subsequently into groups. A sub-committee was set up to fix geographical boundaries of sub-centres. The committee unanimously decided that it was necessary to have the widest possible representation on every committee and with that end in view mem-, bers of every section of the community would be co-opted. A further meeting was called for early next week.
