BETTER TONE OF MARKET

BUTTEIR ADVANCES IN PRICE HIGHEST FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. INDICATIONS OF UPWARD TREND. An optimistic tone is revealed in reports on the London dairy produce markets in' cables received yesterday. Not only have prices for butter recovered from the slight fall that occurred toward the end of last week but also they have gained ground a little, while the forecasts are for a continued upward trend. The highest quotation made for finest New Zealand butter yesterday was 935, which is two shillings higher than at the same time last week and the highest point reached since the low levels of a few months ago. Cheese prices remain about the same as a week ago but the market is firmer than it was.
