GOLFING AT INGLEWOOD
SMITH’S GOOD CARD IN BOGEY. TEAMS AND COMPETITION GAMES. A men’s bogey match was played on the Inglewood golf links on Thursday in ideal weather. W. J. Smith returned one up, while other- good cards were those of J. O. Morton 1 down, F. Partridge 1 down, C. Deem 1 down, D. Gow 2 down, W. Meyer 2 down, H. Hunt 2 down, D. Sutherland 3 down, J. Mulholland 3 down, C. O’Carroll 4 down and C. Twist 4 down. Matches played in the Darlow rose bowl competition, which is played on the full difference of players’ handicaps, re-, suited: W. J. Smth defeated D. Gow 4 and 2, C. Winfield defeated J. W. Winfield 1 up. In the junior championship W. H. Meyer defeated R. Belcher 2 up. A team of Inglewood golfers will visit Waitara in the week-end and another match with Waitara will be played at Inglewood. Following is the Inglewood team to play at Waitara: I. E. Faris, C. R. O’Carrell, H. Winter, R. Brown, Ron Brown, R. H. Sinclair, G. Gernhoefer, J. Winfield. The following team will play on the Inglewood links: S. Lovell, C. A. McKay, W. J. Smith, J. F. Ritchie, D. Gow, C. Deem, H. Hunt, T. Winfield, J. Mulholland, W. Davies. Playing in the senior championship C. McKay defeated R. D. Johnston 3 and 2. D. Sutherland and R. D. Johnston will leave for Whangarei to-morrow to play in the North Auckland championship.
