George Headley, the brilliant West Indian batsman, has accepted an offer of the Haslinden Club, Lancashire, and he is expected to sign a two-year contract. This followed the surprising resignation of Alan Fairfax, the Australian test player, who joined Accrington as a professional last year. Fairfax stated that he had made no plans for the future, but that he was not yet returning to Australia.
