TARANAKI LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING BUSINESS. ' Following a special meeting of ' the Taranaki Land Board which was held last week to enable full consideration to be given to the general financial position of several mortgagors and lessees who are in arrears with, their charges, the ordinary monthly meeting of the board was held on Monday and Tuesday. There were present Messrs F. H. Waters (chairman), C. J.. Ryan, H. A. Foreman, N. R. Cleland and S. Blake. Several applications for land were considered of which the following were approved: Huiroa Hall Committee, Section 3, Huiroa township; W. G. Robinson, Sub. 2 of Section 12, Block XL, and Section 20, Block VII., Omona Survey District; J. E. McLeod, Section 24, Block IL, Aria Survey District; C. E. Baker, Section 4, Block VI., Waro Survey District; W. A. Tocker, Sections 18, 19 and 20, Block XIII., Ohura Survey District; L. A. Ralph, Section 3, Block VII., Ohura Survey District; Mrs.; M. Thomas, Section 20, Block IL, Aria Survey District. Temporary tenancies over the following sections were also approved: Subs. 35, 37, 39, 41, 43 and 47 of Section 37, Town of Hawera, D. Morrison; Section 3, Block HL, Waro Survey District, Mrs. V. W. Taylor; Subs. 1,2, 5. and 11, Opunake Railway Reserve, F. Hardwidge; Section 18, Block IL, Piopiotea West Survey District, W. J. Timmins; Section 2, Block 1, Mapara Survey District, D. S. Maxwell, and Sections 8 and 9, Block IV., Omona Survey District, M. P. Skousgaard. Two further applications for land were declined, two recommended for approval and one held in abeyance for receipt of further information. Eleven applications for consent to transfer were considered of which three were recommended for approval, one deferred and the following approved: Part Section 160, Hua and Waiwakaiho District, Lot 4 Part Section W, Town of New Plymouth, Section 22, Block XVI, Egmont Survey District. The following sub-leases were approved: Part Section 23, Block IV, Carlyle Survey District, Part Section 13, Block 111., Aria Survey District, Section 61, Block XI, Opunake Survey District, and Sections 19, 26 and Part 18, Block IV., Mimi Survey District. The lessees of Subs. 1 and 2 of Section 24, Block IV, Carlyle Survey District and Section 1, Block XIV., Opaku Survey District, were offered renewals of their expiring leases. One application for financial assistance under the provisions of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1929, was received, but the board could not see its way to make a recommendation. ■Forty further miscellaneous cases dealing with applications for exemption from residence, mortgage adjustments, rental and mortgage concessions, etc., were dealt with.
