NIGGER MINSTREL SHOW

Y.W.-Y.M.C.A. FUNDS BENEFIT. A nigger minstrel entertainment was enjoyed . by a large audience at the Y.W.C.A. hall at New Plymouth last night and as a result the funds of the Y.W.-Y.M.C.A. should' benefit considerably.' The major portion of the programme was contributed by the St. Andrew’s troupe comprising Messrs. J. A. McQueen, A. Charteris, A. Bruce, R. Cocker, R. Whyte, R. Dingle, L. Murray and J. Tavendale. Mr. J. H. Ledgerwood was interlocutor • and the troupe was assisted by Miss J. McQueen. Topical “patter” relating to local townspeople and events caused considerable amusements between items.
