RAHOTU NOTES

QUARTERLY MBEHNG OF LODGE. The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Rahotu Lodge was held on Thursday evening, about 35 members being present. The following officers from New Plymouth attended: District Secretary Bro. Bellringer, P.D.G.M. Bro. Clow, J.P.D.G. M. Bro. Walton and D.D.G.M. Bro. Bennett. Lodge honours were accorded the visiting officers. One member was initiated and welcomed by District Secretary Bro. Bellringer 'and past District Grand Master Bro. Clow. A ballot was also taken for several new members. The following were elected for the ensuing term of office: N.G. Bro. McQuaig; V.G. Bro, H. Gilhooly; and E.S. Bro. Williamson. They were installed by past District Grand Master Bro. Walton and Deputy District Grand Master Bro. Bennett and musical lodge honours were accorded them. It was decided to place P.G. Bro. Purvis’ name on the lodge merit bpard and to present him with a framed emblem. The visiting officers were entertained ’at a supper provided by the sisters. •' Personal and General Mrs. D. Williams is spending a holiday at New Plymouth. Mxs. Ruston, with her young daughter, is at Palmerston North. Messrs G. Gibson and W. Fairhurst attended a parish meeting at Okato on Monday night to make final arrangements to farewell the Rev J. Adams. .Mr. Adams leaves on September 20 and it is hoped to bid him good-bye about September 14 at a large gathering at Okato. A euchre party is to be held on Saturday night in aid of the croquet club. The basketball girls will hold a dance on September 8.
