OVERSEA BOND INTEREST
PAYMENT WITHOUT PREJUDICE.
NO REPLY YET FROM LONDON.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, August 17.
The decision of the Auckland Transport Board to make up the last payment due on debentures held in London without prejudice, on the understanding that arrangements will be made for a consultation with bond-holders, has been communicated to London through the New Zealand Government, but no reply has been received. “The payment has not been made in the meantime,” said the chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, to-day. “Nothing can be done until word comes as to whether our decision is acceptable to the bondholders.”
