TOUR OF LADY GOLFERS
AUCKLAND TRIAL MATCH. MEMBERS PLAY MEN’S TEAM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The members of the New Zealand ladies’ touring golf team which will leave for Sydney by the Wanganella tomorrow met a team of Auckland men players at Tirirangi to-day, winning two matches, losing one and ending one all square. The results are: —Miss O. Kay beat B. J. Smith, 4 and 3; Miss B. Gaisford and W. S. Ralph, all square; Mrs. J. C. Templer lost to R. R. McCrystal, 2 and 1; Mrs. Dodgshun beat R. M. George, 3 and 1. The ladies received six strokes, but at four of these holes played off the men’s tees, the increased distance averaging 30 yards. In spite of the added length Miss by brilliant golf broke the record for the course with a sound 76—one stroke better than the record held by Mrs. Deign ton (Titirangi Club). Miss Kay’s card was: Out, 5534 54534 —3B; in 43653445 4-33—76. x
