FOX CHEATS TRAP
FORELEG GNAWED OFF.
FALLS VICTIM TO GUN.
The career has ended, near Moree, New South. Wales, of. a fox that had. wrought considerable damage among sheep in the Bellata district—a fox that,, when his prowling led him into a trap, gnawed off his left foreleg and escaped. For a long time the fox had given great worry to graziers. 'He killed 40 stud ewes belonging to one man by biting out their tongues.
On a recent morning a Kangaroo shooter, named Bert Hann, brought in J, to Moree a fox whose left foreleg was gnawed off at the shoulder. He had the fox placed in preserving fluid. Mr. Hann at once started inquiring for the name of the grazier or group of graziers said to have offered £llO reward for the destruction of the fox.
