CRUISER’S ENGINES DAMAGED
DIOMEDE DELAYED AT AUCKLAND.

Auckland, Last Night.
Owing to a minor defect in the port engines the cruiser Diomede will be delayed in port one day. The fault was noticed when the • cruiser was ’leaving the Gulf to return to Auckland. The gearing of the port engine was damaged and the Diomede entered port on one engine.
