REVENUE FROM POWER

WAIRERE BOARD’S INCREASE. RELIEF CAMP LIGHTING. Te Kuiti, August 10. Figures presented at the monthly meeting of the Wairere Electric Power Board showed an increase in revenue for the month of July, when compared with the corresponding month last year. The total revenue for the month was £919, as t , against £BO2. The figures for the quarter ended June last showed an increase of £B7 over the corresponding period* last year, the figures being £1283 and £2296 respectively. A letter was received from the Pio Pio Settlers’ Association asking that the men at the Willows camp be supplied with lighting. It was pointed out that the men were doing good work for the district and had very little to spend. . . The chairman said, he had been in touch with an official of the Public Works Department in the matter and had given instruction to the engineer to install lights in the cookhouse and at the pump. The camp, he said, would be there for 12 to 18 months, and if the board put in these installations there would be some revenue to the board. The board, however, could not place lights in the tents. The chairman’s action was endorsed.
