SCHOOLS MEET IN SPORT. The Matiere and Niho Niho schools met at Matiere on Saturday when bas- . ketball and Rugby matches were played. Matiere won the basketball by five goals to two. At Rugby Niho Niho defeated Matiere by eight points to five. T. Pamment scored twice for Niho Niho and converted one try. G. Stewart scored and converted for Matiere. Weekly Euchre Party. The weekly euchre party was held in the Otangiwai hall on Friday. The ladies’ first prize was won by Miss D. Hawkless, 13J games. Messrs C. McDougall and R. Dunn 13J games, tied for the men’s prize, Mr. C. McDougall winning the play-off. Consolation prizes were won by Mrs. C. Bennett and Mr. H. Fauchelle. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. Cranston, Fellding, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. A. McDougall, Otangiwai. Mr. T. Brown, Otangiwai, is at Hastings. Mr. A. Churcher and his children left for Auckland on Friday.
