Y.W.CA. GAMES NIGHT. « ■ \ . POPULARITY AT NEW PLYMOUTH. No better proof of the popularity of the games nights organised by the New Plymouth branch of the Y.W.C.A. could be found than the success of gathering last night. The programme, although fundamentally the same as on previous occasions, was nevertheless varied a little by the introduction of new teams games and one or two other items. The evening commenced with massed drill from 7.30 to 8, conducted by Mr. Ledgerwood. Basketball under the supervision of Miss J. Taylor followed, to be succeeded at 8.35 by volley ball. Messrs. Ledgerwood and Lucas were responsible for the management of this feature. Tabloid games and massed drill, and later hockey under the coaching of Mr. F. Ferry completed the evening’s programme.
Miss M. Greenwell gave a short address on the work of the world president and secretary, and outlined the programme for their visit to New Plymouth next month.
