WAITARA GENERAL NEWS
DEATH OF WORKS FIREMAN. At his residence in Cracroft Street, Waitara, the death occurred on Sunday night at about 10.15 of Edward George Bingham, fireman employed at the freezing works. An inquest will be held. Dr. Barclay was telephoned for, but the then unconscious man died shortly afterwards. Bingham was a married naan with two children, a boy and a girl. Mrs. Bingham lives at. Stratford. The son has been living with his mother, and the daughter was keeping house for her father. Unemployment at Waitara. Only 22 married men are receiving relief work at Waitara this week of a total of about 30 who are eligible. This week’s allocation from the Unemployment board is £26 ss. Mr. Roy Allen, of the Waitara staff of the Bank of New Zealand for the past four years, has received notice of his transfer to the Feilding branch.
