REGISTRATION NOT ALLOWED

REGRET EXPRESSED BY JUDGE.

LOYALIST RAILWAY UNION.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, July 14.

Chief Justice Dethbridge announced in the Arbitration Court to-day that, "with regret,” he was forced to disallow the registration of the National Union of Railwaymen of Australia as an organisation under the Commonwealth Conciliation and Arbitration Act on technical grounds. This is the result of the appeal against registration being granted.

The National Union of railwaymen is comprised of loyalist unions which came into existence after the railway strike in 1917. About 20 unions opposed the application for registration.
