RIVERLEA DISTRICT NEWS

SUCCESS OF FANCY DRESS BALL. One of the most successful functions at Riverlea was a plain and fancy dress ball held in the hall last week. There were about 200 people present. There was a splendid display of fancy costumes. Jack Hooker’s orchestra supplied the music. The hall and the sup-per-room were tastefully decorated. The supper was supplied by local ladies. There was a euchre tournament for nondancers, the prizes going to Miss Rutherford and Mr. Otten. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss L. James and Mr. L. Drury and the statue dance by Miss Symes and Mr. L. Purvis. Extras were played by Misses Hey and Lilley and Mr. W. ■ Coxhead. Those in fancy costume were Mesdames J. A. Malone (Carnival), H. R.
