KIDNAPPING IN AMERICA
WEALTHY MEAT PACKER TAKEN,
WAY FORCED INTO HOME.

A message from Alton Hills states that August Luer, aged 78, a wealthy retired meat packer and president of the . Alton Banking and Trust Company, was kidnapped to-night by two men who forced a way into his residence. Senator Copeland, a New -York Democrat, to-night made a plea to the Attorney-General and the Justice Department for the investigation bureau to assist in apprehending John J. O Connell’s abductors.
