PRESENTATION TO COUPLE. A pleasant evening was spent on Monday night when a crowd from Toko and Douglas congregated to pay its respects to Miss Rumball and Mr. Jack Walter, who are soon to be married. The first part of the evening was in the hands.of x the euchre committee. The prize-win-ners were Miss Wilmshurst (9 games), Mr. L. McGuinness and Master W. Baxter (10 equal). Consolation prizes were awarded Miss Florence Rumball and Mr. E. Smith, while the sealed number prizes went to Miss F. Rumball and Mr. P. Skousgaard. The hall was then cleared for dancing and the social committee took charge. Mr. Walter Bredow and Mr. T. Bird both eulogised the sterling qualities of the guests and Mr. Bird wished the couple every success and happiness and asked them to accept the beaten brass fire screen, vase and piece of crystal from the Douglas residents to mark the esteem in which they are held. After musical honours Mr. Walter responded. Supper was served and the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing to music by Mrs. A. Walter, Miss Wilmshurst and Messrs. C. Bredow, H. Rumball and E. Walter". Mr. C. Wilmshurst was master of ceremonies. The Douglas crib players were mej by a team from Huiroa and were defeated by eight games. Mr. Latham, Mr, F. Latham and Mr. R.
