HOROWHENUA BEATS DANNEVIRKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night. Horowhenua’s challenge for the Rugby Union Bebbington Shield was successful against Dannevirke to-day by 13 points to six. Payne, Broughton and W- Parata scored tries for Horowhenua, and Johnson and Graham each converted one. Merrylees and Grant scored tries for Dannevirke. Horowhenua was a shade better throughout both spells. This is the fifth time Dannevirke. has defended the shield and is its first. defeat since last season.
