WELLINGTON STEEPLES WINTER MEETING OPENS BEACON FIRE’S STEWARDS AMYRIL AND CURIE WIN By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting opened at Trenthain to-day in brilliant weather. There was a very large attendance. The track was soft after a heavy frost but was in good order. The totalisator handled £28,158, compared with £23,246 on the first day last year, an increase of £4912. The results are;—
