PURANGI NOTES

LAST MONTH A DRY ONE. June was a fairly dry month, rain having fallen at Purangi on only nine days, the total for the month being 4.17 in. as against 7.01 in. last year. The maximum fall of .97in. fell on June 23. There were frosts on twelve mornings, some of which were heavy. Feed is holding out well and stock are in fairly good condition. Crutching is in full swing at present. To Aid Piano Fund. The piano fund committee’s long-night dance, which was held on July 6, was much enjoyed by those present. Music for the dance was supplied by Miss S. Mounsey and Mr. L. Burke, extras being played by Miss M. Webb and Mr. Johnson. The duties of master of ceremonies and doorkeeper were carried out by Messrs. R. Watkins and S. Hutchen respectively. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Bailey and Mr. Hutchen.
