EUCHRE AND DANCE. The euchre party and dance organised by the members of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, held in tire hall on Saturday evening, was very successful. Euchre was under the supervision of Messrs. L. Rundle and R. Parkin. There were 11 tables. Mrs. Carrington won the ladies’ prize and Mrs. T. Potter the hidden number prize. The men’s prize was won by Mr. Robinson. Mr. J. Thompson won the hidden number prize. Dancing was enjoyed by the younger members, to the music of Messrs. L. W. Rowe and C. Watson. Mrs. Potter played exA* Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr. J. King and Miss P. Walbran. A waltzing competition was judged by Mr. J. Thompson, the winners being Mr. Hammond senr. and Mrs. Hood. Mr. T. Mallon was master of ceremonies. Supper was served by the members of the local branch. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Holmes have left for a holiday at Kati-Kati, Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, Ihaia Road, Opunake, are the guests of Mrs. Poletti, Paraiti Road. . Mrs. J. E. Sampson, Egmont Road, is spending a holiday at Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rowe have taken up residence at New Plymouth.
