NAZI GOVERNMENT SCHEME TAX UPON THE UNMARRIED MONEY TO FURNISH HOMES RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 10 p.m. Berlin, June 2. The Government's £50,000,000 unemployment relief scheme includes a tax on unmarried males and females, which will be used for loans of £5O to newlymarried couples to enable them to furnish homes, thus drawing the women back to home life, which the Nazis regard as their proper sphere. .Wives accepting furniture must promise not to seek employment while the husband is earning more than £8 10s a month. The furniture loan will be repayable at the rate of 1 per cent, monthly. Further to encourage the keeping of servants, householders will be relieved of the payment of unemployed insurance and will receive a considerable reduction in income tax, as a domestic servant is regarded as a member of the family. The Government is expected to finance 150,000 marriages yearly.
