AMBURY WINS FROM SCRATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB EVENT. The final of the first of the series of road cycling events organised by the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club took place on Saturday over a course from Avenue Road to 'Egmont Village and back, a distance of 16 miles. Ambury, Oliver, and Charteris- came on to the home stretch together but the. former did best over the last bit to win by three lengths from OUver, who was a length in-front of -Charteris. Following are the detailed results:— V. Ambury (scr) -, 58m 59s 1 B. Oliver (scr), 58m 59 3-5 s 2 M. Charteris (50s),- 59m 49 3-5 s 3 D; Bond-(3m 10s),-63m 14s Mr. N. Webster was turn steward.
