MOTIONS IN SUPREME COURT. MANY APPLICATIONS HEARD. Mr. Justice Reed disposed, of undefended divorce and bankruptcy matters in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth on Saturday. On the grounds of desertion John Murland (Mr. G. Macallan) was granted a decree nisi, to be moved absolute in three months, against Lena Theresa Muriand. The parties were married on: Decmber 18, 1916, at the New Plymouth ■ registry office. There were four children. About December, 1929, his wife deserted him. Petitoner was given custody of two of the children. A decree nisi was made absolute in I the case of Alice Marion Lewer (Mr. R., J. Macallan) v. Violet Blanche Rhind. -s . Louisa Ethel Baker (Mr. L. M. Moss) v. Walter Reginald Baker, with interim custody of the child. Lilian Evans (Mr. I. Pritchard) v. Ross Evans, with interim custody of the child. Reginald Halliday Crutchley, Wanganui, formerly of Patea (Mr. R. J. O’Dea) v. Ruby Selina Josephine Crutchley (Mr. F. S. , Grayling), with interim custody of the child. Doreen Rose Anna. Wheeler, Waitara (Mr. L. M. Moss) v. Sidney Grey Wilberforce Wheeler, with interim. custody of the child and costs against the respondent on the lowest scale. A petition for permanent maintenance by Edith Emily Barnes (Mr. L. Hughes) was opposed by Harold Augustus Loftus Barnes (Mr. A. K. North), who was the petitioner in earlier divorce proceedings. His Honour advised that the matter should be pursued in the Magistrate’s Court instead of the Supreme Court, and he therefore struck out the application. Discharges from bankruptcy were granted Thomas Manning, Wharehuia, labourer (Mr. T. P. Anderson),. Francis James Kelly, Pukengahu, labourer (Mr. C. H. Croker), Peter O’Shannessey, New Plymouth, butcher (Mr. J. H. Sheat), George Frederick Mason.. ,Eltham,..farmer (Mr. C. H. Croker), Reginald Halliday Crutchley, Patea, cycle, dealer. (Mr. R.‘ O’Dea), Mrs. Gwyn Milne, Hawera (Mr. St. Leger Reeves), 'George-Ernest Condy,. Stratford, confectioner (Mr. ‘ Croker), Robert '. Barlow, New Plymouth, horse trainer (Mr. Macallan).

The deputy official assignee at Hawera was granted release from the' tration of 46 estates in bankruptcy.”.'
