JERSEY WEEK SALES
SOME FIRST-CLASS STOCK. MR. A. J. LUXTON’S ENTRIES. (Continued from Page 11.) The well-known breeder, Mr. A. J. Luxton, Omata, has entered for sale during the Jersey sales next week a total of twelve head—seven in the National and five in the Jersey Club’s annual sale. Buyers may be inclined to think that the pick of the stock will be offered in the National sale, but the fact is that originally the whole twelve head were independently selected by the selection committee for the National sale. Owing to the large number of entries, however, and in order to allow as many breeders as possible to participate, five heifers were transferred to the club’s sale. That Mr. Luxton had great difficulty in separating these from the other entries will be easily understood by those who take the trouble to inspect the complete entries. All are good and typey in every respect. A good opportunity for breeders or those in the process of building up herds is presented on this occasion because seven of the heifers, comprising all of those in the club’s sale and two in the National, are daughters to Brampton Milkmine’s Xenia (imp.), a grandson to Brampton South View Xenia (by the same sire of Segunda Xenia, winner of the Theatre Cup in Jersey Island) and whose dam is La Sente’s Milkmine, a selected cow of beautiful type, imported from Jersey Island. v These are the first heifers ever offered by this fine bull, and should be in good demand. The whole entry will stand the closest scrutiny, and any who are interested are cordially invited to inspect the stock at the farm.
