ARBITRATION COURT
BUSINESS AT NEW PLYMOUTH. SITTING TO BEGIN ON MONDAY. Two claims for compensation are set down for hearing by the .Arbitration Court, which will sit at New Plymouth on Monday under the presidency ?of Mr. Justice Frazer. The first case is an action by Mary Ellen Barker, who claims £llB 17s 9d from Gwyn Milne as compensation for a dislocated left foot received when she slipped on a doorstep. The other is a claim against the Patea Harbour Board by Reginald Herbert Clarke, who- asks for £3 0s 8d a week from April 4, 1932, as compensation for a strained heart, the result of lifting a sack of concrete. The Conciliation Commissioner has referred to the Court applications for awards from the Timber Yards and Sawmill Workers’ Union and the Grocery Assistants’ Union. Miscellaneous matters will also be brought before the Court for disposal.
