A further match in the Garth Cup junior water polo championship was played at the East End Club night at the New Plymouth baths last night. Fitzroy beat East End by 2 goals to nil. The teams were:—Fitzroy: B. Hunter; J. Spedding, L. Bennett; B. Milne; Li W. Bennett, L. Charters, A. Standing. East End: J. Lowe; A. Allan, L. Eddiestone; A. Morgan; P. Maclean, E. Coleman, J. Maclean. Fitzroy atacked throughout the match, but were unable to score in the first half, in which East End. defended the shallow endi Allan played a good defensive game and Morgan was occasionally dangerous for East End, but Spedding and Leo Bennett kept the East End forwards back. Len Bennett, Charters and Milne combined better in the second after many lost opportunities, Charters and Bennett scoring a goal each. The game ended, Fitzroy 2, East End 3. Mr. M. Smale refereed. ■ \ The Hawera v. Inglewood senior teams will meet next Thursday at the Inglewood carnival to decide the southern division finalist. The teams have met twice already, the match at Inglewood resulting in a draw, each team scoring one goal, and the game at Hawei-a in another draw, 2-all. The secretary of the Taranaki Swimming Centre, Miss B. Gayton, has received advice from the secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Centre that the Taranaki polo team will play its first New Zealand championship match agzinst Auckland at Napier on Monday night. The Taranaki team will leave on Sunday for the championships. H. J. Thomas, who visited Wanganui with the Taranaki team in 1931, and who was selected this year, is unable to travel.
