CARD PARTY AT OPUNAKE
EX-SOLDIERS’ ORGANISATION. A euchre and coon-can party organised by the local returned soldiers was held in the Opunake town hall on Wednesday. There was a record crowd present and an enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. D. Thomas won the ladies’ first prize with Mrs. A. Elgar second. Mr. Loveridge won the men’s first prize and Mr. H. H. Gilshnan the second. The cooncan prizes were awarded to Mr. R. E. Peat (first) and Mr, R. Young (second). The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mesdames T. N. Watt, J S. Hickey and A. Elgar and assistants.
