The outstanding feature of the metropolitan Labour conference was that Mr. j. T. Lang’s advice concerning the socialisation policy for the next Federal elections was rejected. The conference refused to revoke its former decisions and declared for straight-out socialisation without limitation as the policy of the Australian Labour Party for the Federal el Tnie°unifications proposals, of Mr. Lang were described as a red herring drawn across the track. The Sydney Morning Herald says that since 1927 Mr. Lang has occupied position of dictator in the Labour Party and has been given absolute power by the executive. The decision of the conference means that his dictatorship has ended. ■
