A passage omitted from the official report of Herr Adolf Hitler’s national broadcast on February 10, though heard by millions, says the Berlin correspondent of the Times, was: “If the German people desert' us that will not-restrain us. Saxony and Hesse both fear control by trusteeship and the eclipse « Parliamentary Government. Baden and Wurtemburg oppose the Reich’s seizure of Prussia, but watch events silently* being too' weak to oppose by force. ,< Police recruits will be approved by the Ministry, implying the . infiltration of Nazi storm troops. Opposition newspapers have been drastically suppressed. Week-end clashes between Nazis and ■- Communists resulted in one being killed at Bensheim and seven admited to hospital at Stuttgart. After a Communist had fired on a Nazis’ procession at Eisleban, Nazis retaliated with an onslaught on the Communist meeting place. The Communists ' declare that five Nazis were killed and the Nazis assert that the Communist death-roll was 10. The police report that two are dead and 13 Nazis injured.
