IRISH MINISTER’S DEPARTURE. DAIL ADJOURNED TILL MARCH 1. By Telegraph—Press: Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 11 p.m. London, Feb. 11. Mr. Connolly, one of De Valera’s Ministers, took the community by surprise when he sailed for America on a secret mission. It is believed he will endeavour to arrange the repayment of Republican loans raised during the Anglo-Irish fighting. There is also a suggestion he may make tentative proposals for a new loan. Mr. de Valera has adjourned the Dail until March 1, to enable the preparation of the Estimates and urgent Bills touching national problems.
High explosive was used in an attempt to blow up the Culvert Railway bridge spanning the Barnesmore Gap, County Donegal. . A number of keystones were dislodged and the structure was- split and the permanent way was damaged for a considerable distance. Temporary repairs enabled it to be used.
