FIERCE GALE AT INVERCARGILL. AT.T, OUTDOOR SPORT POSTPONED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. . After a long dry spell with a great deal of sunshine the week-end at Invercargill was marked by a storm of unusual severity. All outdoor fixtures had to be postponed yesterday. The strong southwest wmd was accompanied by fierce showers of hail and rain, which pounded on the roof-tops last night with exceptional vigour. , The wind was still very strong to-day and there were intermittent showers, one this evening pelting down with great force and sending pedestrians scurrying for shelter. A considerable amount of rain has fallen during the past two days and it should prove most beneficial to the province. -
