WAVERLEY SCHOOL ROLL
FIRST MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The first committee meeting of the Waverley school committee for the year, was held on Tuesday, Mr, Boyne presiding. Others present were Messrs. Flaherty (headmaster), W. Bowden, A. Elmsite, A. Middledich, E. Aikin, C Christensen. Mr. Flaherty reported that 15 pupils left at the end’ of the year, the number attending the school at the beginning of the 1933 year being 208. It was decided to hold the school picnic at some time in March. Miss Jean Palmer, B.HLSc., eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R, P. Palmer, has accepted a position as home science mistress at Wanganui Girls’ College. Mrs. Beer has donated to the tennis club a trophy for a Yankee tournament, of which several rounds have been played. Mrs. W. Muir and Mrs. R. P. Palmer have donated prizes for the forthcoming handicap doubles competition.
