KAKARAMEA SPORTS
MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION.
.The Kakaramea Sports and Agricultural Association held its annual meeting on Friday night. There was a large attendance. Mr. F. S. Tarrant, was chairman. Mr. Tarrant gave a brief report of the meeting held in 1931, when the club held the sports despite the bad times. There was a good attendance and the entries were satisfactory. The dance was a.- success, showing a fair margin of profit. Last year the sports were not held as the meeting was not called until too late, and the president was away from the district . Mr. Tarrant expressed appreciation or the co-operation given by every member of the, club during the 13 or 14 years the association had made a name for itself by providing a good day’s outing for the residents of South Taranaki. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £l4l 15s. Id. Mr. K. Carmichael congratulated Mr. Tarrant on his report and work for the club and extended: to him a warm welcome to Kakaramea. The following general committee was elected:—Messrs. J. T. Dyer, P. Oakley, A. Fowler, R. Wilson, S. Boyd, E. Pearce, F. Shield, H. Hall, J. Christie, J. S. Watt, S. Hobbs, D. Hamblyn, K Bourke, F. Hamblyn, K. Stockman, P. Herbert, H. Watt, P; Dryer, N. Hodge, E. Oakley, L. Pope, J. Kerrisk, R. Dryer, sen. G. Meharry, S. Lord, G. Matthews, A. Ward and G. Leydon. Mr. Tarrant was elected a life member of the association as an appreciation of his services. It was decided unanimously that a meeting be held on April 26. •The meeting was adjourned until next Friday in order to arrange a progranule and to appoint stewards and offi* cials.
