OVER £5000 IN CUSTOMS

PORT OF NEW PLYMOUTH FIGURES. INCREASE OVER JANUARY, 1932. An increase of £1250 16s 7d is shown in the customs duty collected at the port of New Plymouth in January, 1933, compared with the amount for January, 1932. Excise duty showed a decline of £6l 2s 6d and petrol tax a decline of £B3O 9s Od. Customs duty collected in,January, 1933, was £5216 2s lid and the figures in the same month of the previous year were £3965 6s 4d.
