FLOOD WATERS BLOCK ROADS
heavy RAIN IN THE SOUTH ISLAND.
LOW-LYING AREAS THREATENED.

As a result of heavy rain the NelsonBlenheim Road is blocked by flood waters at Canvastown. The Nelson-West Coast road is blocked at the Brightwater bridge. The Maitai River is running bank high and is threatening to overflow the low-lying areas.
