STRATFORD ITEMS.
’ Miss Tui Macßae has returned from a holiday spent in Southland and Wanganui.
Mrs. C. Penn, Miss Lucy Penn and Miss Helen Coward returned on Saturday evening from a camping holiday spent at Paraparaumu.
Miss Becky Taylor and Miss Nancy Neville, New Plymouth, and Miss Jean Macßae, Stratford, have returned from a motor tour of the North Island Mrs. Bradley and her son have returned from a holiday visit to Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. G. Carter are on a motor tour of North Auckland. Mrs. R- Curtis and family are spending a holiday at Ngamotu beach.
Miss Ethel Newland is spending a holiday at Napier. • Mr. and Mrs. T. Kirkwood have left or. a holiday visit to Marlborough Sounds. Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Hughson and family have returned home after spending a holiday at Urenui. Mrs. Evan Jones, Toko, has returned from a holiday spent at Cambridge. Miss Grace North is spending a camping holiday at Urenui beach.
Miss Loma Cuff, who has been the guest of Mrs. F. J. Moore, has returned to Auckland. Mrs. G. McGregor and daughter have returned to their home at Palmerston North after a holiday spent with Mrs. W. H. H. Young. Mr. and Mrs. Rowe and family, Toko, who have been spending a holiday at Waihi, have returned- to their home. ‘ The members of the Stratford hockey clubs met at the residence. of Mr. and Mrs. Power on Monday evening to express appreciation, of the good work dong by ~Mr. and Mrs. Power for the clubs. After supper Mr. Priest spoFe on the excellent work done by Mr. and Mrs. power and family. Messrs. R. Urwin, Ebbett, L. Mclnnis and. Bennet tEltham) spoke on behalf of the various teajns. Mr. Priest on behalf of the combined clubs presented Mrs. Power with a fish service and Mr Clem Power with an amber cigarette holder. During the evening games and dancing were enjoyed. Those present included Mesdames Power, Urwin and Ebbet, Blisses Power, M. Young, J. Young, C. Clarke, I. Schweiters, B. Watkins, V. Sheahan, J. Elgar, V. Cook, E. Sanderson, M. McCluggage, H. Reader, E. Irving anol B. McKay. Miss V. Thompson left for Feilding yesterday.
