A decision to hold the annual picnic at the Huatoki Domain on February 4 and not to charge any admission fee was made by the Huatoki picnic committee last night. A strong feature at Scanlan’s Summer Sale commencing to-day is the number of samples on offer. Sample towels, sample hose, sample bedspreads, sample bloomers, sample vests and underwear of all descriptions for women and children. These were most advantageously purchased and have all been greatly reduced. See bargain tables.* A fresh list of bargains from the biggest sale ever held by Manoy’s, Ltd., Stratford, appears on this page.*
