TEAM TO TOUR AUSTRALIA
NEW ZEALAND SOCCER MEN. Details of the projected tour of Australia by a New Zealand Soccer football team have been announced. Fifteen men are to be sent, and each shall receive £2 5s per week on their travel from Wellington back to Wellington again. The amount is payable in Australian currency. If a steamer is travelling to Melbourne at the time the Australian body advocates that the team should play in Victoria before touring New South Wales. In the event of no direct boat being available on the journey from New Zealand and suitable transport being found for the return trip after the tour, the A.F.A. recommends that the team go to Sydney first and tour New South Wales and Queensland, and then play in Victoria on the way home, via Melbourne. The team will consist of a goal-keeper, three full-backs, four half-backs and seven forwards, and a manager. Nominations have been received for the position of manager of the team, and the successful nominee will be announced later.
The tour will begin about the middle of May.
