Rec. 10.5 p.m. , 2!' A daring robbery took place at Kerrs, a city jewellers’ .firm, this afternoon and was witnessed by hundreds of shoppers. A man threw a brick which broke ,the window, then snatched a tray of diamonds valued at £5OO and escapedThe police later arrested Edward Jenner, aged 19; on a charge of robbery of the diamonds. Jenner was captured by an employee of Kerrs after a stiff chase through the traffic, in which diamond rings were scattering in ad directions. It. is estimated that £5OO worth of the £l3lB worth stolen is missing.
