HOOVER’S VETO OVER-RIDDEN
INDEPENDENCE OF PHILIPPINES. U.S.A. SENATE PASSES THE BILL. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Washington, January 17. The Philippine Independence Bill passed the Senate to-day by 66 votes to 26 over President Hoover’s veto. The House of Representatives last Friday voted by 274 to 94 to over-ride the veto, which was more than the margin required.
