TEMPERATURE OVER NINETY
OPPRESSIVE HEAT AT MARTON.

Marton, Jan. 17.
A carefully checked and verified reading by an experienced meteorologist gave yesterday’s maximum reading in the shade as 92 degrees. The heat was most oppressive, and any breeze was also warm. The intense heat' is partly attributable to the fact that Marton is situated on a high plateau. ' NINETY DEGREES AT BLENHEIM. Blenheim, Jan. 17. The temperature yesterday at Blenheim was 90 degrees in the shade.
