PETITION FOR RELEASE
LABOUR MEN’S SENTENCES.
DEPUTATION AT LOSSIEMOUTH.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 30.
Mr. Ramsay MacDonald unofficially received Mr. George Lansbury and his. companions for three hours, including lunch. He -accepted their petition and promised to place the case before the Home Secretary with a verbatim report' of the representations.
A cable, received yesterday stated: Mr. George Lansbury and two colleagues are travelling to Lossiemouth carrying a memorial urging the release of Tom Mann and Llewellyn, unemployed leaders, onthe grounds that their conviction was in the nature of a- persecution and alien to modem temper. It is signed by a majority of the prominent Labour figures, including ex-Mjnisters. ■
