SCHOOL CHILDREN’S CONCERT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A very successful fancy dress concert was held in the Lincoln Road hall on Friday night. Those in fancy costumes were: Mary Knofflock (Fisher Girl), Noala Sarten (Fisher Girl), lan Burson (Swagger), Jack Elliot (Dutchman), Peter Winter (Sambo), Don Winter (Mrs, Sambo), Margaret Knofflock (Pierrette), Myrtle Middlemiss (Venetian Lady), Lucy Tuck (Red Riding Hood), Averil Schmidt (Red, White and Blue), Peter Burson (Pirate), Stanley Paul (Dream Man), Campbell Schmidt (Indian Brave), Audrey Raynor (Rising Sun), Keith Schmidt (Elf), Allen Paul (Billiards), Olive Mehrtens (Spanish Dancer), Violet Tuck (Christmas Bell), Alma Winter (Rose), Ray Paul (Jingle Bells), Keith Knofflock (Indian Chief), Betty Fredrickson (Pierrette), Pat Miles (Rainbow), Doris Tuck (Rainbow), Rita Tuck (—), Fay Miles (Powder Puff), May Goldup (Chinese Girl), Nola Baker (Cabaret Girl), Bruce Burson (Bell Boy), Ernest Winter (Sheriff), Arthur Fredrickson (Jockey), Charles Raynor (Father Christmas), Stanley Fredrickson (Hockey), James Elliot (Rabbit).

The programme was: “Captain Jinks,” school; “Hoea Ra,” senior girls; “Only a Pin,” folk dance; “Tip-toe Through the Tulips,” senior girls; “A Fancy,” juniors; “When it’s Spring Time in the Rockies,” juniors; recitation, “Johnny and Sat Mom,” Ray Paul; “Ten Little .Nigger Boys,” junior boys; “Rainbow Fairies,” junior girls; recitation, Averil Schmidt, “Flo’s Letter/’ recitation, lan Burton, “Signs and Omens”; monologue, Peter Winter, “Ye Kick Ball”; “Capstan Bar,” senior girls; “How Jimmy Tended the Baby,” Campbell Schmidt. These were interspersed with folk dances and unison songs.

Mr. F. S. Burson, chairman of the school committee, presented several attendance certificates. He also presented proficiency certificates to lan Burson, Peter Winter, Jack Elliot, Noala Sarten and Mary Knofflock. A special prize was awarded Campbell Schmidt, who was dux of the school. Mr. Burson spoke of the good work of the teacher, Mr. Hall, who has been at the school for only a short time. There had been seven other teachers at the school during the year, and it was a credit to Mr. Hall that he had got the children through their examinations and trained for the concert

Each child, received a book as a gift from the school committee, the funds for which were raised by Mr. L. Tuck and Mrs. F. Elliot. After supper the adults took the floor for dancing, music being supplied by Mr. K. Lawson. Extras were played by Mr. P. O’Callaghan, Miss G. Norcross and Miss E. O’Byme. Mr. A. E. Winter was master of ceremonies.
