; TENNIS AGAINST STRATHMORE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) During the week-end a friendly tennis ! match was played between Strathmore and Makahu at the Makahu court. The match resulted in the visitors winning by 17 sets . (124 games) to .7 sets (84 games). Following are the detailed results, Strathmore players being named first: — Ladies’ Singles: Mrs. McGrath beat Miss I. Roguski 6-4, Mrs. Clopatt beat Miss E. Coyne 6—l, Mrs. Meek beat Miss N. Kopke 6—3, Miss E. Schinkel lost to Mrs. J. Coyne 5—6, Mrs. McGillivry lost to Miss J. Boyle 2—6, Mrs. Elder lost, to Mrs. O. Frank 4r—6. Ladies’ Doubles: Mesdames McGrath and Clopatt beat Misses I. Roguski and E. Coyne 6—o, Mrs. Meek and Miss E. Schinkel beat Miss N. Kopke and Mrs. Coyne 6—3, Mesdames McGillivry and Elder beat Miss J. Boyle and Mrs. Frank. Men’s Singles: A- H. Frank beat A. Kopke 6—5, L. Meredith beat J. Hopkirk 6—4, Meek beat C. Ford 6—2, Clopatt beat J. Coyne 6—5, H. Mayo lost to D. Wheeler o—6, D. Mouatt beat J. Dalgleish g 3 M*en’s Doubles: Frank, and Meredith lost to Kopke.and Hopkirk 3—6, Meek and Clopatt beat Ford and Coyne 6—2, Mayo and Mouatt lost to Wheeler and Dalgleish 3—6. ! . Combined Doubles: Mrs. McGrath and Frank beat Miss Roguski and Kopke 6—2, Mrs. Clopatt and Meredith beat Miss Coyne and Hopkirk 6—l, Mrs. Meek and Meek beat Miss Kopke and Ford 6—l, Miss Schinkel and Clopatt beat Mrs. Coyne and Coyne 6—o, Mrs. McGillivry and Mayo lost to Miss Boyle and Wheeler 5—6, Mrs. Elder and Mouatt beat Mrs. Frank and Dalgleish 6—3. Mrs. L. Manning, who has been teaching at Ohura, has returned home for the vacation. Miss M. Coyne is spending the holidays with her parents. Miss Nita Kopke has returned home.
