THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—With regard to the Coalition Government’s legislation, so far, in trying to combat the depression, and also. the scheme put forward by Messrs. son and Fletcher, it seems to me that all is tending towards socialism. Th Coalition’s main plank, in fact the on and only, at the last election, was to oppose the Labour Party with its socialistic objectives, at all costs. there ever been in the history of New Zealand a more Socialistic Government than we have at present? So much so that Sir Francis Bell said that some of the legislation was not only socialistic bpt absolutely Bolshevic. I am sure the great majority of people of this Country do not want socialism, but the present Government is doing the best to bring it about. One of our greatest troubles is far too much Government interference, and I am satisfied that Conditions would more quickly and satisfactorily right themselves if we were left alone more to work out our own satallcn.-! . etc, HcMIftAN .
